The advantages of optical fiber sensors compared to other sensors

1. Electric insulation. 4. High sensitivity. High sensitivity is one of the advantages of optical measurement. The sensitivity of optical fiber sensors using light as an information carrier is very high. It is an indispensable tool for certain measurement and control.

5. Long -distance monitoring. Because the transmission loss of optical fibers is very small (currently the small light loss of the fiber of the quartz glass system can be as low as 0.16dB/km), the combination of optical fiber sensor technology with the remote test technology is easy to achieve long -distance monitoring of the measured field. This is particularly important to monitor the automatic control of the industrial production process and monitoring nuclear radiation, flammable, explosive gases and air pollution.

6. Strong adaptability. Geometric shapes are adaptable, which can constitute an optical fiber sensor with any shape.

8. The fiber sensor has no mobilized part and no power supply. It is an electrical non -source system.
